IZFEN Energy – Biogas Plants

Biogas facilities are the name given to energy facilities that produce biogas for heating and energy generation. Biogas is a gas produced by animal and vegetable wastes other than natural gas or other flammable gases. Biogas, also known as methane gas, is obtained by keeping organic wastes in closed pools.

How Biogas Plants Work?

Vegetable and animal organic wastes are mixed homogeneously and inorganic materials such as plastic, stone and metal are separated. These wastes are crushed and placed in digestion tanks. These wastes fed into tanks are fermented with the help of certain micro-organisms. After the fermenting process, oxygen, methane (50-70%) and carbon dioxide (20-40%) gases are obtained. Three types of output are obtained from organic wastes processed in biogas facilities;

  • Electric Energy
  • Heat
  • Fertilizer

Outputs Taken in Biogas Plants (Electricity and Heat Generation)

Biogas, that is methane gas, obtained from process tanks is converted into electrical energy by burning from gas generators. The electrical energy obtained from these generators can be stored or fed into the electricity grid. The heat released during electricity generation can be used in various factors. Examples of this are home heating near the facility, greenhouse heating, straw drying, etc. are operations like.

After the waste is converted into electrical and heat energy, the remaining part is used as fertilizer. This fertilizer is a much less flammable and odorless alloy than other agricultural fertilizers. It is also a bacteria-free fertilizer model suitable for use.
